Decorex International
20th - 23rd Sept 2015
Syon Park
Still in the ridiculously annoying location of Syon Park I arrived late, needing to also visit Focus and the Kings road I only managed to see half of Decorex this year but here are my favourites from what I saw.
Show Favourite's
1st - Blott Kerr-Wilson, who didnt even have her own stand!
Accessorizing Chesneys fireplace stand Blott Kerr-Wilson's fantastic shell art work stole the show for me.

2nd - Linely - Sunrise the Gentlemans vanity cabinet.
A cabinet for the James Bond style man.
As someone that loves organisation, order and a home for everything this caught my eye.
"Standing elegantly in a bedroom, the valet cabinet prepares the modern
gentleman for the day ahead. Doors at the front of the cabinet open,
pivot drawers swing outwards and the lid lifts to reveal a handsome
figured walnut interior with a silver leaf eglomisé mirror and an array
of drawers and compartments, each one individually designed for a
specific purpose. At the top of the cabinet orange leather lined
compartments are designed for cufflinks, collar stiffeners and shirt
studs while the pivot drawers are perfect for the contents of emptied
pockets. The opening of the pivot drawers also reveals two secret
drawers; a signature of LINLEY ingenuity, wit and charm."
"Within the cabinet are padded leather watch rolls and two central
SwissKubik winders as well as a drawer complete with a Bamford Watch
Department tool kit. A further drawer houses two clothes’ brushes for
cashmere and tweed as well as a bone shoehorn, with the remaining
drawers cleverly arranged for ties, pocket squares, handkerchiefs and
other accessories. Expertly hidden within the cabinetry and behind a
secret mechanism is a Bramah safe, its whereabouts revealed only to the
owners"

I dont have a good photo of the outside but the finish has an awesome story........
"Part of the ‘LIGHTSCAPE’ collection, a gentleman’s valet cabinet
depicting a building in early morning light; its simple steel and glass
structure bathed in a bright orange glow and shimmering as the city
comes to life. The brilliant marquetry façade of birdseye maple veneers
hand-dyed in copper tones and bleached sycamore is illuminated by
iridescent mother of pearl, while grey tones of eucalyptus flow down the
building, finishing in inky blue pools of shadow."
I also really loved the furniture below, also by Linley

New Forest Flooring
I love the interesting ways they have chosen to display their range of finshes, using different finishes on different steps and as paneled wall covering, creating a small room set.

Using plain black walls showcasing framed pieces of some of their bright statement wallpaper, with the company name in the frame is really eye catching and effective.
